Hi! My PS2 slim can’t read PS1 discs. Know a fix?

My PS2 can’t read PS1 discs (backwards compatibility). Is it that PlayStation made the newer PS2s not backwards compatible or does my PS2 have a problem?

@natanthetechman the PS2 is backwards compatible with most PS1 games but not all. So, this maybe an issues with the games you have. Here's the list on Wikipedia, not sure how complete it is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Pl...

Hey Nathan,

Thanks for your question. There is already a proper page for the SCPH-900xx Model: PlayStation 2 Slimline SCPH-900xx so we now have two pages for the same model. Maybe check if there is already an existing page before creating a new one to avoid confusions.

Greetings

Julian

@julian_1997 not sure what your answer is referring too. Elaborate on it please

@oldturkey03 I‘m referring to the device page already existing on iFixit: PlayStation 2 Slimline SCPH-900xx. The enquirer created another device page for the exact same model which can cause confusions bc it‘s a duplicate page. I found no other way to contact @nathanthetechman to tell him about it.

In retrospect my message was unnecessary and could cause irritation which I wanted to avoid. I'm sorry for that.

@julian_1997 I see. Thank you for clarifying. No harm no foul, so it's all good
