Why is my laptop so slow

Slow can be a complex issue to fix because there are a lot of things that can contribute to performance. Or perceived performance. Let’s start with some basics.

Open the task manager and see what is actually contributing to current system load. To access Task Manager you can press Ctrl +Shift + Esc. Once it’s open, select the “More details” button if you are only getting very basic info. Here you should be able to see all running processes as well as the amount of any given resource (CPU, RAM, DIsk, etc…) that is being utilized.
