Xbox One controller was introduced in 2016 with the launch of the Xbox One S and adds Bluetooth support for Windows 10/11. This controller fixes many of the design flaws found on the Model 1537/1697 controllers and is much more reliable. This controller has been replaced with the improved Model 1914 controller.

Could I use the board and components of the older variant inside it?

I have the 1697 controller and also this but the 1708 broke and I still have the 1697 without the left bumper so could I swap the bodies of both of them so that one works

yes, i guess because microsoft did not change anything in the controller since the original xbox one
