Beeping, one long, two short

My trusty Sonicare has started beeping in a repeating pattern while charging. It still works, but only occasionally. Is this fixable or do I need to buy a new one? It is by far the best toothbrush I have ever had, so I don't want to just discard it without attempting a fix or knowing I need a new one.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Try this fix first. Hold down the SILVER button for 5 seconds while the toothbrush is on the charging base. If the fix works, it will fix the problem immediately like magic.

If that doesn't work, try this:

1) remove the brush head.
2) use a screwdriver in the base and turn 1/4 turn
3) push out assembly from the top
4) dry the inside of the base handle. allow it to air dry
5) allow the switch to air dry
6) reassemble

my sonicare doesn't have a silver button, only a green one. And no screwdriver has been able to turn the base 1/4 turn. Any other ideas?

Mine also does not have a silver button. I think it depends on the model. I just held down the power button while the brush was on the charging base, per Hayden's instructions above. It responded with a series of vibration signals, then the beeping series stopped "like magic." So far, so good.
