My MacBook not powering on while charger shows green light

I have a MacBook Pro retina display from 2015.

It was working till last week when it suddenly went blank. I tried to reboot but nothing happened. I tried rebooting after couple of days, it did power on once and allowed me to login but went black again

Since then I have not been able to login, The charger went from amber to green over certain time, that to me indicates the battery is still good.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Give the age of the system I’m suspecting you battery has failed. While the MagSafe connector is showing a Green LED as well as showing the discharge state it can lie!

Give this a try, follow the first 6 Steps in this guide MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Mid 2014 Battery Replacement

Then with nothing connected, press and hold the power button a good 15secs to fully discharge the logic board. Now plug in the MagSafe charger the system should spontaneously startup, let it fully boot up and do a proper shutdown.

Reconnect the battery and restart again with the charger plugged in. Now quickly download CoconutBattery and take a snapshot of the apps main window with the battery tab opened and post it here for us to see.
