Blinking Power Button on Display flashes Dot Dot Dash.

This is such a peculiar question. Using this terrific (but old) display with a 2010 Mac Pro using the adapter. The display has begun flashing the power button with a dot dot dash sequence. Functions perfectly but uncertain as to the cause or the remedy to this situation.
