iPad dropped. No display. Chimes when Plugged in

My aunt dropped her iPad 1 wifi. It has no display now. Does chime when plugged in though. Apple wouldn't look at it for her. I do screen conversions on iPhone 4's so I feel I could probably fix her iPad. Anyone have similar issue? Video ribbon maybe?

Options

Sounds like the fall could have damaged the display itself. Could be worth a shot to pull it apart and check the connections but generally even falls don't jar connections loose (generally).
