Droped in water now has rainbow snow.

I accidently droped my phone in a puddle of pool water my on my nefew birthday. After letting it dry out for er 24 hour in dry rice, Their seems to be dead pixel like a rainbow of falling snow on the screen you can not even make out anything but snow but everyting else works, i get alarm of text, calls and so on but i can not see whats on the screen at all or interact with my touch screen. I went and bought a replacement screen on ebay and got some tools with them then found this site and used the breakdown tutorial from this "Link" and looked through the board. It seems like Elpida B8132B1PB has water damage. I took some WD-40 *WD stands for: Water Displacement* so after acouple shots and a blow with a dedusting can and a blow dryier to heat up the oil i am starting to notice the screen is very slowly getting better. Not by much it still has a falling rainbow snow effect but im starting to see outlines of icon and botton task bar.

Do you think i should keep trying or is it a lost cause?
