Spilled small amount of nail polish remover on the keyboard...andwon'

I have a second MacBook Pro with a broken screen on outside edges. Was wanting to take parts from it to get the one I spilled nail polish remover on as it is in the best shape since it was a week old when I broke it.

What would I need to swap out?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Please read through the answer fully a few times and take notes based on what you’ll need based on what you have with the two systems.

The easiest direction is just to move your display assembly to the system which the has the broken display. Follow this guide MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015 Display Assembly Replacement

If your logic board has a faster processor you can also transplant it in the second action after you know the display is working. Follow this guide MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015 Logic Board Replacement

The last step is to figure out which SSD is the larger, as that is the one you will want to use in your working system (don’t move it over yet) MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015 SSD Replacement.

Then depending on what your now working system has for macOS you may need to upgrade it to the same OS. If your nail polished systems macOS is older and has the larger SSD you can just physically transfer the SSD drive.

If your If your nail polished systems macOS is newer, you need to first upgrade the broken screen systems OS to the same macOS release before you transfer your SSD.

If the broken screen system has the larger SSD you’ll want to use macOS’s Migration Assistant tool to transfer your users account and stuff over to the new system Move content to a new Mac

I do recommend doing a full wipe of the other users stuff and install a fresh OS install. The best way is to create a bootable OS installer USB thumb drive. Get the macOS from here How to download macOS first format the thumb drive, then follow this guide to make a bootable installer Create a bootable installer for macOS
