Cracked screen spare part question

I don’t know what series my HP Pavillion laptop is but the model number is 8TR24PA. It has a crack on the screen from a hard object falling off the wall and hitting it (from approx 30-40cms height). The screen is now impossible to read but still has power going to it and appears to still be working. I think only the front plastic panel needs replacing. Is this possible, and if so, do you have a part number please? Thanks very much.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi @kerrins

If the LCD screen has a crack and it can't be read then most probably it needs to be replaced.

Here's the maintenance and service guide taken from this support webpage for your laptop model HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk0237tx Note: 8TR24PA is the HP Product number for your laptop, not the model number.

Go to p.65 to view the procedure to remove the display assembly so that you can remove/replace the display panel.

The HP part number for the display panel in your laptop is L56917-001. Usually the part number can be found somewhere on the back of the panel if you wish to verify.

Search online using the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.
