Liquid in the digitizer

hey,

so my kids somehow managed to get water inside the digitzer, i tore the device down and its solely the digitizer from the inside, i have let it sit with some silica gel for 10 hours already but there is no sign of the moisture disappearing, i was wondering if i could heat it up with a heat gun/hair dryer so it evaporates faster

thanks

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi

I wouldn’t recommend heating the display as you will most likely burn the glue in between the layers

Unfortunately you may have to buy a new one unless you want to take a gamble

You could also try and disassemble the backlight as that’s where most of the water will gather but please do this at your own risk

Hopefully this helps

Any questions please ask

Thanks:-)

@hajis

If you use heat below 120deg c you might get away with it

Probably needs replacing though

I would attempt at your own risk:-)
