Can OpenCore Mess with Migration Assistant?

I am running a 2012 Macbook Pro 15" (10.1) and am intrigued by the thought of OpenCore Legacy Patcher. But I'm wondering -- when it really comes time to upgrade equipment, will I be able to run Migration Assistant and have the old files show up on the new machine? Or will the OpenCore files transfer over and "mess" with the new computer?

It's my understanding that Migration Assistant doesn't copy OS files from the old machine to the new... but are the OpenCore files stored away as OS files, or something else that will indeed transfer?

I've personally used OpenCore on a 2008 Unibody Macbook (not pro/air) and successfully transferred its files over to a newer machine with migration assistant, Migration Assistant doesn't touch the EFI partition to my knowledge which is where all of OpenCore's patching is done, if that makes sense.

Either way, i'd reccomend using it. I got macOS 12 running on a machine from 2008! It's a little slow, but the fact that it works at all is incredible.
