Why external display is not working in MacBook Pro?

Macbook Pro screen got damaged and the external monitor is not working even after disabling the screen display. No indication of machine working except touchpad clicks and fan. How to fix the external display problem.

Options

Using an external keyboard and mouse restart the system and the close the display. At that point in time your external should become active.
