I messed up a customers iPhone X touch.

Hey guys,

I had a working Iphone 10 come in for a battery. I put it together and realized i forgot the sheild over the FPC Connectors.
When i took it back apart something in the screen got damaged in the screen and i got a green line threw it.

Ive had to bite the cost and ordered a new screen for the person, but there is another problem

Some of the screen connectors got unplugged while the battery was connected and there is no touch on the screen as well.

What are the chances its a bad screen causing no touch? Or did I mess something else up on the motherboard? I had to lend him my personal phone, and he wants his back ASAP.

Should i order any more parts to be safe? Is there a Filter i may have blown or IC Chip that could order ahead of time to have on hand? I also dont have a board separator and would need to order one if i need to get inside the motherboard.

I am going to use the FPC diode map to check the FPC connector on the Motherboard tomorrow as well as inspect the touch cable better. Any advice in the matter would be appreciated.

Thanks

K

Check Diode Mode readings on all pins for Touch connector. If fuse, it would be FL5800...or one filter nearby... But Diode readings will tell you if its the screen or what part of board was damaged ;) Good Luck! Message me if you need any more help...

@willis4344 I totally get it :) I have been Microsoldering for last 7 years as Iphone Rehab, just sold it last Summer and reopened a new Shop "The Microsoldering Shop"... We all have been there ;) https://logi.wiki/index.php/iPhone_Diode... for future reference on some ... or https://phoneboard.co/

@teetopp I posted a picture in the comment below of my readings, if you can verify my readings that would be amazing.

Goodluck wth your business and Thanks for your help. I worked in a repair shop for a few years like 15 years ago before microsoldering was a thing :)

Here are my readings from that connector. All the readings are pretty close except for pin 20.

For pin 20 I couldnt make out what it says but im guessing for that pin you have to test with probes reversed.

I got OL With red on Ground and when i reverse probes Black on ground i get .679

Do these readings mean that its not a motherboard issue? I didnt measure the filter since the connector readings seem alright

Also my Icopy 2 was able to read the screen threw that same flex cable
