iPhone 7 taptic engine on iPhone 8?

I am in the process of replacing my iPhone 8's battery, but I tore the ribbon cable for the Taptic engine while doing it. How screwed am I? Can I use an iPhone 7 taptic engine on my iPhone 8, or do I need to buy one specifically for the 8?
