Which battery do I need?

Do I need to replace my laptop battery ???

It discharges in about 30 minutes when off the charger.

We have an early 2011 Macbook Pro, 15 inch. Model is A1286. Battery design capacity is 7000 mAh. Full charge I only get about 6190 mAh.

I replaced the battery in 2018. Cycles are only about 90. Battery status is normal whether full charge or down to 7% charge.

Time to change the battery? If so, which one? The only one I found on your site that is close to matching has a capacity of only about 6100 mAh. I need 7000. What is your recommendation? thanks frank

So those are actually really good numbers for a battery that's only five years old. Although we would need some more insight into this. I highly recommend using Coconutbattery, which I shall link here: Coconutbattery. Once you have that installed, take a screen shot of the program and add them to your question. Thank you for your fast reply. I downloaded coconut and have sent a pic from it to your email. I'm having no luck downloading a pic here. I recalibrated the battery a couple times by disconnecting the charger, draining it down/shut down and than 7 hours later re-connecting the charger. Unfortunately, no change in battery performance.

When I disconnect the charger, the battery goes down to about 84% and than the laptop shuts off automatically. I immediately reconnect the charger , restart the laptop and battery shows 7% charge. What is odd to me is that the battery can go from 84% down to 7% in just a minute or so.

Is the problem a bad battery? IF so , which one do I need? The Macbook pro laptop was manufactured on May 23, 2011, model A1286, 15 inch.

Or is the problem the laptop? Settings are off maybe?

So what do you think is the problem ? Thanks for your help, frank
