The part for indicating charging is blinking white and orange

I used my PC in the afternoon and forgot to turn it off and slept. When I woke up and plugged the PC, the charging light was blinking white and orange repeatedly and the computer won't turn on. Although I unplugged the PC, the light is still blinking for 4 hours now. Please help, this is my fourth PC in 2 years

Take the battery out and just connect the charger. Does the laptop work fine? If yes then the battery is the problem. To test the charger run the HP Diagnostic:

Test the AC adapter using the UEFI Hardware Diagnostic tests

If the computer starts and you would like to test the AC adapter, use the following steps:

  1. Make sure the power cord and adapter is connected to the system and wall outlet.
  2. Press and hold the power button until the computer turns off completely.
  3. Turn on the computer.
  4. Immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second, until the UEFI Hardware Diagnostics screen is displayed.
  5. In the UEFI Main menu, select Component Tests.
  6. In the Component Tests menu, select Power
  7. In the Power menu, select the AC Adapter test.
  8. Run the test and follow the onscreen instructions.
  9. When the test is finished, the results display.
  10. If the test PASSED, there is no issue with the AC adapter.
