I have a black screen and no sound

I have a Hisense Roku tv. The screen is black when plugged in i can read hisense roku tv with a flashlight then it goes away and the words come back. I have tried unplugging for over 60sec. I tried unplugging for 60sec and holding power button for 30sec. I have also tried changing different outlets. Also the red light will blink or turn off for a second when the words go away. I have also unpluged the cord from the tv and changed it with another tv and the other tv comes right on and this one does the same thing. Any ideas?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@sonofdolph77 if you can see the words when you shine a flashlight against the screen, then it is your backlight that is not turning on. The blinking red light will not happen if this is a backlight LED only error. This sounds more like a board error. Check your power board and your main board. Measure the BL_On voltages with a multimeter. The main board commonly causes black screen and no sound. It might work better if you can give us your TV's model number and post a couple of good pictures of your boards. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that.

I have a Hisense 58R6E3.

TV turns on, backlight is on, you can hear what's playing in the background, but no image on screen.

@docsmith36660 could be a main board issue or even a T-con board issue. Measure the voltages on T-con board and see what you get. you need 12V on the fuse and check VHG, VGL and VDD voltages. As you can tell, we'll need to see your boards in order to assist you further.

@christybrown so you unplugged and reset it and it worked for three days then it stopped. Now back to black screen no sound? What exact model is your Hisense? How do you connect to TV? Cable top box? Satellite, streaming, etc. Give us all the details.Have you tried to reset it again and does it still work after you tried that?
