Lots of things could be wrong here. First hook it up to an external monitor and see if you get a picture. If the keyboard doesn't work use an external. Let us know your results but in any case be prepared to spend a lot of money on repairs that may not fix it.

First, did the Apple store open it or test anything or did they just pick the most expensive thing to fix? Also was this a real Apple store or an Authorized Service Provider? This thing really needs to be checked out by a pro who has replacement parts to be able to test what's good and what's not. You got no results with an external monitor or an external keyboard, for real? Have you tried booting from the system installation disk? You stated in your question that the machine was booting, did you see this or just hear about it?

Yes it was the real Apple Store. I could not see the machine booting.

They took it in for service, i paid about 100 usd just for a price estimate on the repair costs. They sugested not to fix it since it would cost so much. I guess they open it and took some tests since they said that my logic board had died.

Sometimes it boots up for 1 second but then it goes of, and sometimes it boots up and nothing happens. No light in the keyboard, no sound, nothing.
