Strange screen issue depending on the brightness

Hi.

I just bought a Galaxy Note 3, and seems to have an issue, basically, if the brightness is not on max, it shows this strange static on the screen.

Sometimes it doesn't show, but that seems to be rare.

Could this be a flex cable issue?

Thanks

Update 12/28/2022

Unfortunately, the screen is all black now, it started as a few purple spots to a completely non-functional screen.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @overflowunt

It may be a display problem.

Does it do this when the charger is connected?

Try using the phone in safe mode and check if the problem occurs.

If it doesn't then a downloaded app may be the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one.

Also try mirroring the screen and check the display on the external display. If it is OK then it seems like the problem is related to the display.

Here's the ifixit Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Display Assembly Replacement guide that may help.

I installed a custom ROM and it still shows, I'll try to mirror the display and see if it shows on the external display or not.

If you say it’s rare which I’d take as intermittent then I’d take the back off and check the cables for the screen etc are all seated correctly.

I tried recording and using TeamViewer and it doesn't show on any of them.

I opened the phone and I may be wrong but are these (they look like resistors?) on the board burned?

I tried cleaning with etylic alcohol but it didn't help.

The phone screen also appears to have this yellow spot at the edge.
