Why are my controllers disconnecting randomly

My controllers will connect when i fully turn off and on the ps4 but after maybe an hour or two they disconnect and wont reconnect but the ps4 says they are connected when they are not whats wrong with it maybe there is a quick fix i havent been able to play for months because they wont connect
