Slow LTE Speeds After Repair
I replaced the front screen and back glass on my LG Wing referencing this Hugh Jeffreys Guide, and my LTE speeds have been suffering pretty bad lately. I'm attributing this to something that may have occurred during my repair, but is hard to pinpoint when it started occurring as I'm on WiFi most of the time and WiFi speeds are normal.
This was my first phone repair, so I'm unsure what to look for to identify the LTE antennae apart from the WiFi antennae. Then once I find the correct antennae, what kind of damage should I look for? I understand it's also possible there is ESD damage which would be impossible to identify, but I'm hoping to rule out other possibilities first.
This piece also fell out during teardown and I'm completely lost as to where it goes. Is this important or related to this issue at all?
edit: this appears to be where the white piece goes.
Is this a good question?
Update: I found where that white piece goes. Credit to MovilOne Phone Repair on YT where I pulled this screenshot from.
On the LTE issues, I found a set of 3 modules on ebay (all seem to be required). However, when testing with those modules disconnected, I still had an LTE connection. Gonna try again later today, as I was tired and working quickly when I did that, so results are likely skewed. Seemed to have 10x better upload than download which seems very odd. I'm guessing only 1 module is damaged, and this phone using 1 for Tx and 1 for Rx. Will need to test.
