How to remove logic board residue on components

How do you remove the residue that is stuck on the logic board that covers the capacitors and other components on the logic board? I have tried using isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush but the residue is quite hard. Are there any other chemicals or techniques i can use to make this easier?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You mean the black epoxy?

Apple use that stuff for a reason, those things are impossible to dissolve using alcohol and toothbrush, you'll need something like a phone BGA heater and a scalpel.

It's called underfill. Hot air station and a blade or sharp tweezers to scrape it off should do it. About 150 to 180 degrees. Go easy so you don't damage anything.
