What is that SSD?

Hello I just pulled out the ssd from that macbook pro model to try and get the files (GPU died) I though at first it is just an m.2 but it looks different.

What is this port called? I need to find an adapter from this to USB

Thanks!

Apple uses a custom port design while it looks similar to M.2. You'll need this adapter case

@nitro912gr - Just added the iFixit case which is a bit cheaper.

@danj thanks but probably doesn't worth it. my sister have some files there I wanted to get, but probably is cheaper to ask the tech guys at the apple service to make a copy.

I was hoping to get the files and then use this in another system but 256GB are pretty cheap those days.

Thank you anyway!

@nitro912gr - Your going to hate me ;-{ Apple won't salvage files and to add to it they won't work on your system as its listed on their Vintage and obsolete products listing. An independent Mac repair shop would be your best direction here.

by

@danj ah yeah don't worry the shop is "apple authorized" not apple per se. They probably will do it for free because my sister is a customer there for some time now.
