I can't open up my controller Genesis p65

I took out all the screws but something holds it on the left side.

Is it glue or am I opening it wrong? the right side comes off and gently moving it around to see if it nudges left side doesn't do anything either.

I was hoping to see why I can only go right in any given game but I guess China wants me to buy another one.
