Keyboard and track pad not working. Cap lock light is on all the time.
I have a MacBook Air early 2014, worked fine until it dropped from the top compartment of an airplane. It was in a case and the case inside a backpack. The keyboard and track pad stopped responding (aside from power button).
They don’t work in recovery mode either.
Plugged device work.
What I tried :
- reset PRam
- Reinstall OSX
- went into recovery
I brought it to Apple and they said it s a problem with the monitor(?) and asked $750 to repair , they suggested I buy a new one.
Any idea what part could really be the issue? And if possible to repair it myself?
Another thing to note is that the cap lock key light is on all the time. I can’t turn it off.
Thanks.
Is this a good question?

To be clear your system is fully dead correct? Or are you able to get some level of response on the display.
Also did you try using an external display to see if something showed up on it as well as try a USB connected keyboard and mouse.

Sorry for the confusion; the system works fine aside from the built-in keyboard and trackpad not working,(with the cap lock light on).
External keyboard mouse work, as I used them to reinstall the system. Thank you!
