Is there any difference between A1707 speakers and A1990 speakers?

The A1707 speaker looks identical to the A1990 speaker. Is there any difference in sound quality?

Hey Dean,

I don't think many (If any) of us have tested this out.

Are you asking this because of the fact the A1707 ones broke. If so then I'd say just send it.

If not tho I don't think it's worth the time, money and risk to do it as it would be possible to break the connector (worst case scenario).

There are some important physical differences! The lid sensor is part of the speaker in the 16/17 speaker whereas the 18/19 uses a different setup. This is reflected in the speakers wiring! The mating surface of the speaker to the case is also different so the speakers won't fit correctly. Please get the correct speaker for your system.
