We had a rat chew through an electrical wire in our dishwasher. It flooded the kitchen (the rat was fine) and the dishwasher stopped working. After an electrician replaced the wire and a plumber replaced the chewed hose we tried it and, while it turns on, it immediately goes to ‘drain’. It’s a Maytag mdbh949pab. Is there anything I can do?

Try to reset it by running the diagnostic test program as shown in the test sheet for the dishwasher.

How to reset a Maytag dishwasher? Simply unplug it, wait one minute, and plug it back in. If the dishwasher is hardwired to your home’s power supply, turn off it’s breaker in your circuit breaker box. Wait one minute before turning it on again.
