iPhone got put in laundry

Hi everyone, i recentely put my iphone 4 in the laundry machine. It had a ottobox case on it, so it's water resistant to a certain point. Both water receptors got triggered. After the wash was over, i realised and took the phone out, wiped it off and put it in rice as i was always told. The phone had about two and a half days to dry without being turned on. Today, i go to plug it in, my computer doesn't recognize it. The screen turned on when i held the power and home button at the same time, but it only displays a low battery image which then turns into the screen with the white apple and black backround meaning the device is loading up. Then the device turns off again. If i unplug the phone when its on, it dies. Basically i wanted to know if possibly the battery must be changed, becuz the screen works fine, but the device can't stay on. I'd appreciate any advice or suggestion on what can be the problem.

Is the phone able to operate normally when plugged in? I can't tell from your description whether or not you managed to get the phone operating. If the phone turns on, you may have a dead battery and maybe a damaged dock-connector. If not it may be unfortunately bricked (blown logic board). One option is to use our guide to open the phone and do a visual inspection for corroded or burnt parts. Try opening the phone up and letting us know what you find!

+ The only thing I have to add is that besides definitely changing your battery, follow this guide or even this one. Yes, it is for the 3G but it pretty much still applies....Good Luck

Sorry for the confusion, the phone itself can turn on if i plug it in, press the on button, but the only thing that appears is the screen showing i have a low battery which then switches to the apple logo meaning the phone is loading, but before it does, it turns off. So yes it can turn on, but it doesn't stay on. It seems like the battery is affected, because the screen works perfect, even the mute button works to put ur phone on vibrate, i dont have a small enough screw driver to open it, but i plan on getting one lol. From what i've mentionned, would you say it's more than likely the battery why the phone won't load, or could that be something a else?
