Is there a RAM upgrade for this model?

I have the 16,2 model with 8GB of memory. Is there an upgrade to 16 or 32 BG available?

Sadly there is no RAM upgrade for this series. The RAM was soldered to the logic board as you can see here, the Orange outlined chips are the RAM and the CPU is likewise soldered Red outlined chip.

@nytryder26 - Theres two issues you need a hot work station to property heat the logic board and use a hot air station to desolder the RAM chips. This is not something a DIY person can do with a soldering iron as you can't heat the board enough and if you pull on the chip when it's not fully freed you will likely damage the logic board solder pads.

Then you still need to find the correct RAM chips and you could only boost it to 16 GB. Given the costs and the risks its just easier to replace the logic board at that point but this series only offered a i5 Broadwell most people would bother.

Thanks. Regrettably, RAM is not offered by Crucial for the 16,2 model (EMC 2833) and the website indicates/reads that the standard memory is 'non-removable'. Perhaps a more technically skilled person can actually make this upgrade, but outside of 'unplug and replace' I think I'm beyond my skillset. Appreciate the quick suggestion.
