I forgot to ask him what button to press to switch on the laptop. My laptop is still working 100%, could please anyone of you help me switch on my laptop? I am a student and I need it for my work. Their are a couple of different ways you can jump start your laptop. What it sounds like, the repair shop had changed the BIOS settings to power on with a different button. Their is more information here. However, their is a way you can actually replace the power button and HP has an official repair guide that you can find here.
