Replacement battery charge 2.12v before installation

I have just received a second replacement battery. Applying a meter to the poles on the battery produce a reading of 2.13v dc. The battery’s specs 11.4v. Should I bother to install it?

Answer this question I have this problem too

The batteries state when shipped is about 1/3 charged, so I wouldn’t worry. But you don’t need to glue it in before testing it installed.

I would also use a USB-C power meter to monitor things and make sure you are using the proper charger and USB cable as the one Apple ships with the charger has larger gage wires for the power lines.
