Can I replace the rear camera glass without opening the whole phone?

The glass (or clear plastic or whatever) that goes over the rear camera lenses of my Pixel 5 has cracked, and it's affecting the photos I take.

I bought what looks like the correct replacement part on eBay, and I have an iOpener kit. Should I try to pick off the old, cracked glass, perhaps after heating the edges? Or do I need to take the whole rear cover off to replace it?

How do I make the replacement ‘glass’ stick?

So I ended up just heating the lens cover with the iOpener pad, and picking the old glass off, bit by bit. Then I put the new one on, and applied the heat again, so the glue adhered to it again. It seems photos come out slightly less sharp than with the original, but much better than they were with the broken cover, and good enough for saving $250.

Where did you source the replacement glass? I'm only seeing the whole back plate.

Hey @Mik Scheper, I have the same question as @Chris Decker. Can you please post a link or tell us where you were able to order the replacement glass?

Omg, you guys ever heard of eBay? At least Google it. There’s loads.

Yes. To quote Weird Al Yankovic, 'I found it on eBay'. I think I searched for 'Pixel 5 lens cover'.

Sorry that I didn't see this question before now, nor before that condescending twit begged for praise for having a phone that had lens covers available. I'm glad their account has been deleted, and I hope you find similarly abundant results for your device.
