Where is the ringer (tone) connection located?

Replaced daughter board. Everything works but the ringer. Not sure where exactly the ringer is located to check the connection.

Hi,

Do mean the vibrator motor or the loudspeaker?

It is the loudspeaker that produces the ringtones sounds that are heard from audio files in the OS. Try using the phone in loudspeaker mode (hands free mode) and check if you can hear when on a call. If so then the loudspeaker is working OK and the no ringtone problem is being caused by something else, e.g. ringtone settings.

If the phone is set to vibrate as well as ring (check Settings) then if there are no vibrations when an incoming call is received then there is a problem with the vibrator motor.

Here are the Ifixit Samsung Galaxy S8 guides.

There are guides showing how to repair the loudspeaker and the vibrator motor

Thanks!

I had replaced the daughter board (charging board). I think it was the same board for the loudspeaker from looking at the guides. Maybe I’m not getting a connection solid?

@Action Lock

The loudspeaker is a separate module to the daughter board

The loudspeaker sits on top of the daughter board so it may be as you said a faulty or perhaps dirty connection (fingerprints on loudspeaker copper tracks?) or even a bad daughter board cable connection if the loudspeaker circuit connects to the daughter board to get through to the main board
