SIM tray broke in half, only half comes out. SIM and other half stuck

I've tried getting it with things like sewing needles but it seems if anything I've only further lodged it into place.

I will take this thing apart if need be, however I'm not sure which, if any, of the ifixit Pixel 2 guides are what I'd need to be able to access it, or without taking way more apart than necessary.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @printedwaffles ,

I would use the Google Pixel 2 Motherboard Replacement guide to gain access to the SIM card reader where hopefully you may be able to gently push the broken tray and SIM card back out from the reader, without causing too much damage to the reader pins. Perhaps by using a Spudger you might be able to do this

Getting the reader’s metal case cover off may be difficult if you want to try and remove it to lift the broken pieces out.

If you decide to try this, don’t skip the part about disconnecting the battery from the board. You don’t have to remove the battery, just disconnect it. There is always power on the board even though the phone may be switched off and you don’t want to cause any more problems than what you already have. The power button is not a power isolating button.

Or get some ifixit tweezers and carefully get the piece out
