Screen detached from frame

My screen had already come slightly loose, so following the guide for the screen replacement (iPhone X Screen Replacement) I got the screen separated from the device. Step 12 says to make sure the frame comes with the screen, but I believe mine is stuck. Since the screen is partially attached to the frame, I need to get this frame out. How can I do this?

I realise this may be due to not removing the screws at the bottom. If I remove these will the frame just drop out?

The side clips are friction clips, they can be pulled out with enough force.

The top clips are actually hooks, you need to lift the screen from the bottom to release the top hooks, which is why locking the bottom with screws ensure the screen frame is locked in place on both ends.

Is there a way to rejoin the screen to that inner frame? Or is that part of the waterproof seal?

Yes the pentalobe screws will be stopping the whole assembly from coming out. You must remove these before removing the screen.
