Any idea why my sd card reader would work with a uhs-ii sd card but not a normal one?? The normal one works too because it works on a usb to sd card adapter i have. So i have no idea why this would be the case. Plus I dont think I can replace it. I have the xps 15 7590 and i believe that one is soldered onto the motherboard.
Is this a good question?

Hi,
Have you checked that the drivers for the card reader are up to date?
Go to Device Manager > Memory Technology devices > click on the “>” symbol to the left of the Category, to expand the list > right click on the card reader hardware entry > update drivers.
To get to Device Manager in Win10, press the Win key + x key (both together) and then click on the Device Manager link in the options box that opens.
You need to be online for this to work.
If there is no Memory Technology devices category look under USB controllers or Other Devices (if shown) to see if the card reader is listed there.
Also check if the chipset drivers are the latest version.
