How to read memory externally?

There was damage to the phone that wasn't able to be repaired, so in an attempt to save the photos / saved data, I took the phone apart. I was wondering if there is a way to read the on-board storage externally, independent of the phone. I believe the piece I would like to read is the Toshiba THGAF4G9N4LBAIR 64 GB UFS, which is the nand flash.

Onify sorry but it is not possible without repairing the phone so that it at least boots etc. There is no other way to recover data from your S8. On older models you could desolder the UFS memory chip (chip-off) and then read it in external reader, but now even this dump will be encrypted with no chance to ever decrypt it. Consider your data lost.

Hypothetically if I attached the device to an external board running in mock s8 environment could I pull this off if I know the password /code ? My wife was a fool when it comes to data, loves pictures, lost pictures, and doubts my abilities so I have something to prove. I feel like I wire the ssd to a pi that is running the Android os I could get the system to act like it was the phone. My work on android systems is nada so maybe you can tell me more about why this won’t work.

someone may be able to do that, but it will cost MUCH more than doing a backup.

Unfortunately a backup cannot be done since the phone will not power on or charge.
