Best possible cpu upgrade with board change?

Current: Core 2 Duo (E7600) A1312 (EMC 2309) LGA 775 Socket T.

Can I swap the board with any of the LGA 1156 Socket H boards?

You’re in luck! No need to replace the logic board only the CPU.

This series is a transition series. Intel offered their first i5 & i7 series chips as direct drop-in’s: 27” iMac Processor Chip - 2.8GHz i7, Apple P/N 661-5428

I appreciate the reply.

The CPU you linked is for an LGA 1156 socket and will not fit the LGA 775 socket.

If I'm overlooking something, please inform me as I'm willing to learn :)
