MacBook Pro find previous logic board serial number

Hi,

I gave my MacBook pro to a third party repair and they say they repaired whole logic board and charged me for it. Now it has same exact problem just after I got it.

I totally believe they didn’t changed anything, Is there anyway to confirm the logic board is same and the serial number is same as the original logic board.

Open About This Mac the last line in the description is your systems S/N this is burn’t within the logic board does this S/N match your bottom cover, original box label or sales slip (paper or electronic).

Thanks so much for answering Dan, Unfortunately, the mac isn't working right now I can only open it physically.

@danrowns - Ouch! Sadly the logic board number is not the same number so that won't work. I would go back to the repair shop either letting them refix it under their warranty or get your money back.

Some credit cards offer protection plans see if they offer one.

The last thing you can look at is the boards configuration to see if yours is what you had before. As an example that logic board S/N also has a four alphanumeric code of the boards config (NJ1W, NJ27, NJ2Y, NJ3C - 2.3GHz i9 with 16GB/1TB/5500 GPU with 4GB)

At least you can see if you got the same config. Tell us what yours is and I can look it up.
