How to pair a replacement keyboard

Hi all. I have this device which I bought in France a few years ago. At the time I still had a qwerty wireless magic keyboard from a previous machine so paired that up to type on instead of the azerty version it came with

The keyboard is failing now big time so I’m going to try buying one online. My question is - am I right to think I can buy any wireless iMac magic keyboard & make it pair to my desktop…like I did previously ? I’m only questioning myself as I’ve seen one on eBay france for around €30 - perhaps its cheaper because its qwerty which they dont use her!

Here’s the process: Connect an Apple wireless accessory with Mac

You’ll need the Lightning to USB charging cable to start things.

thank you - so in principal it is possible to connect any wireless keyboard

@stevieo - Yes of course! But, you first need to marry the keyboard to your system and besides you'll need to charge the keyboard (battery)

many thanks. I've been having constant problems with the brightness F2 button , meaning the levels automatically go down on their own and when you press the F2 to increase it it doesn't stay in place. when I looked under the key all the bits underneath were broken, the casing the rubber bit etc . the whole lot
