Vertical lines on OLED due to cracked glass

I dropped my phone numerous times in the past and today it fell where there was no glass. A white line appeared and pressing does nothing. I removed some of the cracked glass but nothing changed. I plan to replace the glass but do I also need to replace the OlED display? Or will removing the the glass fix the problem?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

if youre getting lines on the screen youll need to replace the screen. removing glass will only make things worse. please dont remove anymore glass. get the phone repair or replace the screen as soon as possible. if it still responds to touch then atleast the digitizer still works.

im not sure if those screens come with the digitizer built in as one module or not.

the glass on a S8 plus can be replaced and there are kits to do it as well as you tube videos that show how.

The job is extremely difficult and (strangely) easier if the glass is quite broken.

But if there are vertical lines already on the screen the entire display assembly needs to be replaced.

I tried replacing the glass on a s8 plus but damaged the extremely fragile and sensitive ribbon at the bottom of the

display... creating the same vertical lines ,

so .yes possible but very difficult
