I accidentally cut the home button flex opening iPad

i was replacing the battery and the home button flex got cut or ripped and now with the new batterty the ipad screen will not come up. i have checked everything twice and cant figure out why the screen wont come on.

is it possible that you have to have the home button to make the screen come on?

Or is it that there is something else wrong ??

There is no way you can do it, you have to give it to apple since your home button is paired to your Ipad, You can replace it but you will then have no touch id.
