Can I pick parts from MBA 2011 to fix screen from 2017?
We have a MacBook Air from 2017, the last one of the old look. The screen just died, in the same way as I’ve seen others explained. At startup, the screen just shows light vertical stripes that slowly fade out to black. When pressed at certain points, parts of the screen comes back, only to fade out to black again.
I’ve tried to connect it to an external screen and that works just fine. So I guess its a hardware issue.
I have an older MacBook Air from 2011 lying around that doesn’t boot properly. I’ve read here and on other places that they have the same size but that the cords are different, wi-fi cord to short or something.
But can I use some parts, say, if its only the cable to the screen or a connector that’s damaged or something.
I really can’t afford to pay a lot for repair at the moment, we already have another MBP Pro with a broken screen that I use as a desktop computer with a screen.
Is this a good question?
