Does the iFixt IPad 5th gen LCD replacement has a protective film?

I have received day ago my “new” LCD screen from iFixit.

My first impression is the LCD surface has scratches and dust, which is surprising because I ordered a NEW one. Also, I’m not sure if the scratches are over the protective film, because I’m not sure if it has one. There is no easy way to know if it comes with a protective film because it has no tabs to pull it over.

Does anybody has a recommendation?

It more than likely has a protective film. If you get something like a toothpick or even fine tipped tweezers you can kinda get under it at one of the corners. Just did an iPad 6 LCD (which is also shared between the Air 1 and iPad 5) last week and it too had a film on it.

Thank you Jesse!

Certainly it had a protective film.

Now I have to deal with a touchscreen issue... I have changed the LCD and the touchscreen and now the touchscreen is erratic, looks like the bottom quart of the screen is not responding.

Thanks again and take care!
