Upper left corner on the back of the lap top gets hot.

It sounds like a fan turns on. It just started this a few days ago. What is the problem?

What OS are you using? There seems to be a temperature issue with Windows causing the fan to spin full throttle and potentially putting at risk your HDD/CPU, here you can read more details.
