Latex gloves can I wear them?
Is it ok to wear latex gloves to stop oil from my fingers getting onto the contacts during teardown?
Is this a good question?

Yes, latex gloves are perfectly fine. Do be aware that you can still build quite the static charge with latex. (Yes balloons are rubber but latex has similar properties)

+ I recommend Nitrile gloves, better for you and powder -free gloves are classified as a Class II medical device, resist and decrease generation of static charges.
Thanks guys, just finished replacing the screen and all went well with gloves... One thing is the screws are so small it's tricky to get them where you want them :-)
Good Job. Trust me it does not matter if you have gloves on or not with those screws:-) I myself seem to suffer from fat-finger-syndrome and old people vision...those screws are a PITA:-) again, great job

Yes, it is definitely OK to wear clean latex gloves during the repair. Keep your screws in order, don't break anything, or pinch (crush) any cables.
