Brand new controller sticking triggers

Bought a controller yesterday, and right out of the box both triggers act like they are constantly held down while in game. I was able to fix this yesterday by plugging the controller into a different computer and then back into mine, but the issue arose again today and that did not fix it. I’m planning on just exchanging the controller tomorrow, is that my best course of action?
