iPad Pro 2020 replacement screen compatibility

Will a 2018 IPAD pro lcd work with a 2020 iPad Pro? Has anyone attempted this?

No. It just won’t. The 2018’s screen is way different than the 2020’s.

This response is kind of unclear... are you saying the first and second generation displays are interchangeable or are you referring to the 3rd and 4th gen?
