The Maytag Washer model MVWB765FW is a top-load washing machine with a deep fill option. The washer has a volume of 4.7 cubic feet.

Stops mid spin won't drain/burning smell

I have bought new parts replacing the old the pump, and the belts underneath. Both these parts are brand new. The machine will fill with water and will agitate, but when it comes time to spin full speed and drain the water the machine will start spinning, then right before getting to full speed it will click, and stop all movement. No water will drain out during this process. Brand new pump though, and hoses are not clogged. Burning smell after it clicks, and stops spinning. Must unplug machine every time or it won’t do anything else. it is a belt driven pump. Is this a malfunctioning motor?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Are the springs that hold tension on the tub/agitate belt intact? Also does the motor move freely on the tensioning track? I put a new belt on mine a year or so ago and it smelled a bit and squeeled for a few loads after that belt replacement but it finally stopped giving those symptoms after a few loads.
